According to a World Health Organization article on
Alzheimer's Disease, "Reported research in 1996 among older Japanese Americans living in Washington and in Hawaii revealed that the number of Alzheimer’s disease cases was much higher
than that estimated in Japan and closely resembled the findings for North America and Europe."
