Exploring the OECD Better Life Index

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development has created an index called the OECD Better Life Index. It ranks OECD member countries on "key factors that contribute to well being". I was wondering how their index compared to the International Living Quality of Life Index, so I pulled their data into the same visualization. One difference is that the OECD index contains data only for the OECD member countries, while the IL Quality of Life Index covers about 200 countries. The scatterplot in the upper left compares the two indices. There are two obvious outliers. The United States in the upper right; the IL index ranks it higher than the other OECD countries. Luxembourg in the upper left; the IL index ranks it lower than the OECD index.
Darker blues = higher Life Satisfaction rank. You can mouse around to explore and click on index measures to explore other index measures. Drag to select. Yeah, it's Flash.
